Day 6 - Wednesday, July 15

RATs: Rubric, Assessment and Teamwork

We spent the majority of the day in the conference room working a team to complete the new batch report procedures and surveillance audits (and several conference calls).

Here's today's agenda:
  • Playbook Live Conference
  • New Batch Reports
  • Surveillance Audits

Quick Reflection Video - Day 6

Observations:

I want to do additional research on the DMCA Guidebook regarding the 14 Point Assessment used to audit programs. In addition, I'd like to see a detailed copy of the surveillance audit rubric/checklist that the team uses to perform audits.
  • Interesting note: I mentioned the surveillance audit rubric to my team.... and we had some blank stares until I realized that I used the word "rubric". The team did not recognize the difference between a checklist and rubric, so I used that opportunity to share an example. Another example of work environment jargon that needed some clarification.

Today, I shared with my team an idea that I had about how I could give-back to my teammates. I decided to hold a Teambuilding Session (approx. 30 min) next week that would include a fun teambuilding exercise along with an opportunity to create an instructional team goal. At the same time, I will be preparing a separate list of teambuilding activities that the EVM team can use at least once a month to strength their connections and continue to make improvements.

Classroom Applications:

  • Students will participate in a variety of teambuilding and community building exercises throughout the year to strengthen their connections, make improvements and increase their collaboration.
