Here's today's agenda:
- LCS Support
- Teambuilding Session w/ PPM Team (30 min)
- IDT PPM Meeting
It's BitterSweet! My last day at LM was an excellent final day with the team. We started the day attempting to finish up the LCS Support from yesterday (this was an ongoing project throughout the day). During lunch, I was able to give the team a match needed break to complete some fun teambuilding activities. We started off the 30 minute session with a quick overview of why teambuilding is important. The PPM team has a very strong and supportive relationship; however, it is always important to take time "away" from the day-to-day to evaluate our own performance and have fun! The team was able to share some unknown talents and/or hobbies as well as exciting places to travel (i.e., Fiji... and Chicago). Additionally, the team shared some thoughts on what they like best about their team as well as what they might improve. We came to the conclusion that the PPM team is very collaborative, relates well to one another, supports each other, has a sense of humor, etc... and there are very little areas where they are seeking improvements at the moment (relating to how they work together as a team). The final activity included the brainstorm and creation of a team mission statement. The resulting statement will serve as their daily reminder for what they strive to be and how they will go about becoming the Gold Standard in Program Performance Management. Overall, the teambuilding activity created lots of laughs, informative discussions and a chance to get to know each other even better!
Team Goal Statement:
To be proficient and knowledgeable experts in Program Performance Management so that we can earn respect as industry leaders making customers’ needs the top priority. We will do this by shaping our culture to build an inclusive environment through continual professional learning , skilled teamwork, ubiquitous support and constant collaboration.

Overall Reflection
My overall experience with LM has been very interesting, worthwhile and informative all at the same time. I have gained valuable knowledge about teaming, procedures and skills needed in the corporate environment --- and I have a challenge ahead. The challenge is to translate this knowledge into my classroom, so that my students are motivated, prepared and excited for the real world beyond high school...and even college. I have compiled an extensive list of activities and/or skills that I plan to incorporate into my instruction this year. I will most likely select a few key activities and skills throughout the year to incorporate --- keeping the students engaged, but not overloaded! :)
I appreciate the opportunity to partner with Lockheed Martin and immerse myself into their environment for a few weeks. A special thanks to my mentor, Jimmy Kittelberger and my team members, Anisha Anthony and April Hurst, for their unfailing support, welcoming environment and excellent teamwork. It has been a wonderful experience getting to know these talented, dedicated and intelligent team members.
Have a wonderful rest of your summer!
